A specialist shop, not a general garage

Owned and operated by Mabel Garcia at 3005 Tennessee Avenue since 2009 — four technicians, four bays, one specialty.

Our story

One bay, one specialty, seventeen winters

Copperline Auto Climate opened in 2009 in a single rented bay off Tennessee Avenue. Mabel Garcia had spent eleven years as a dealership climate-control technician and was tired of watching customers pay for parts nobody had tested. The plan was narrow on purpose: only heating, cooling and ventilation, done properly, with the diagnosis written down.

The shop grew to four bays in 2014 and added dedicated R-1234yf and hybrid equipment in 2019. The plan has not changed. We still turn away brake jobs. We still test before we quote. And the technician who diagnosed your vehicle is the one who repairs it and signs the invoice.

Troy is a hard climate for a vehicle — 95°F humidity in July, road salt and −5°F starts in January. Systems here fail differently than they do in Arizona, and after seventeen seasons we know which failures come first on which platforms.

Standards

How we hold ourselves accountable

Certification

All technicians hold EPA Section 609 certification. Two hold ASE A7 (heating & air conditioning) and one holds ASE L3 for hybrid systems. Certificates are posted in the waiting area.

Equipment

Recovery machines are calibrated twice yearly by an outside service and the calibration log is available on request. Scales are checked monthly against a known mass.

Environment

Recovered refrigerant is reclaimed through a licensed processor. Used coolant, oil and filters go to a certified recycler. Nothing is vented and nothing goes to the storm drain.

Registration

Michigan Motor Vehicle Repair Facility Registration #RF-284117, in good standing. Our registration certificate is displayed at the counter as state law requires.

Community

We sponsor the Troy Junior Robotics winter build and run a free furnace-of-the-car check each October for Oakland County seniors.

Complaints

Mabel answers every complaint personally within one business day. If we cannot resolve it, you are entitled to file with the Michigan Department of State and we will help you do it.
